Bosted and Irizarry Keep LHS Boys LAX Rolling

Dynamic duo help Cardinals improve to 9-3 on the year.

The Lawrence High School's boys lacrosse team was flying high at the end of April, winning five out of six contests to improve to 9-3 on the year, powered by the offensive exploits of Nick Bosted and Jacob Irizarry.

On April 18, the Cardinals crushed Steinert by a score of 12-2. Bosted was a scoring machine, with seven goals and four assists in the win. Irizarry added four goals and an assist, while Patrick Kelly collected eight saves for LHS.

LHS would follow up the blowout win with a tight victory over George (Pa.), by a score of 4-2 on April 20. Bosted was all the offense LHS would need, scoring all four Cardinal goals. Irizarry contributed two assists, while Kelly was a wall with 11 saves.

In their next game on April 23, LHS would not let up even a single goal, crushing Delran by a score of 11-0. Irizarry sparked the Cards with five goals and six ground balls, while Bosted scored four goals.

Jordan Fleming led Lawrence with seven ground balls. Alberto Santiago and Brian Robb also collected six ground balls, while Robb added a goal.

On April 25, the Cards continued the winning streak with a dominating 18-1 victory over Hamilton.

Once again it was the Bosted and Irizarry show, as both players collected nine points in the win. Irizarry scored six goals and three assists, while Bosted scored four goals with five assists.

Robb also scored two goals in the win, as Kelly notched four saves for the cards.

The winning streak was broken by Hightstown on April 26, as LHS fell to the Rams by a score of 13-5. Bosted scored three goals and two assists, while Robb netted two goals in the loss. Kelly would collect 14 saves in a losing effort.

The boys would recapture their mojo on Tuesday in a showdown with 8-2 Nottingham. The Cardinals broke open a tight game scoring six unanswered goals in the final quarter to beat Nottingham 13-4.

Bosted notched six goals and three assists, while Irizarry scored four goals with four assists. Alberto Santiago scored a goal and an assist, while Elyas Youfzai also contributed a goal. Kelly recorded seven saves for the win in goal.

LHS will be back in action on Thursday at home against Ewing.
