Brown Bag Series Lecture: Inside a Composer’s Studio: The Process of Revising a Piece / Presented by Dr. Stephen Gorbos and Professor David Vickerman

Dr. Stephen
Gorbos composes concert music for a range of ensembles and soloists, as well as
music for film, theatre, and dance. Dr. Gorbos has had his works performed in
concert halls across the US and in Europe by organizations such as the
Minnesota Orchestra, the Albany Symphony, the NOW Ensemble, and the Cuarteto
Latinamericano. Recent projects include a commission from the Strathmore Music
Center in Bethesda, MD for Highway Music, composed for violist Wendy Richman,
and Push, a commission from the Moores School Percussion Ensemble at
University of Houston that was recently released on Albany Records. Dr. Gorbos
holds a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University, an MM from the Yale School of
Music, and a DMA from Cornell University.
