Harvest of Hope is NAMI Mercer's annual conference offered at no charge as a gift of wellness to the community. Launched in 2009, Harvest of Hope traditionally brings more than 200 people together to learn strategies and resources that promote mental health and wellbeing while also deepening understanding of mental illness.
This year our plenary session special guest is Landon Donovan, American Soccer star and mental health advocate. He will be live-streamed for a fireside chat led by talented, local playwright, David Lee White, who will be in-person. Donovan will address his serious battles with depression and how he found peace on and off the pitch. His recently released memoir is noted as "a powerful testament to resilience, identity, and the pursuit of self-acceptance." Conference goers will have the opportunity to engage in a live Q & A with Donovan following the interview.
The day also includes practical, interactive workshops, thoughtful conversations rooted in personal experience, a collaborative art project, an uplifting concluding activity, and plenty of opportunities for community-building. We consistently hear this day described as one that is uplifting, inspiring, and filled with hope.
