Cops Nab Mercer Co. Man Charged With Attempted Homicide
The man fled after the attack on Bear Tavern Road on Feb. 25.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ — A man wanted in connection with a Feb. 25 altercation on Bear Tavern Road was arrested Thursday following a joint investigation, the Hopewell Township Police Department said.
Officers responded to a 911 call at 12:15 p.m. on Feb. 25, reporting an altercation between two men on the roadside of Bear Tavern Road involving an edged weapon. On arrival, officers found the victim alert and responsive with significant injuries. Officers and EMS provided immediate care. The victim was taken to a local hospital, Hopewell Police said.
The suspect was identified as Nahuan Tejada had left the scene before officers arrived. Detectives processed the scene and began working to locate him. A warrant was issued on Feb. 25.

Tejada was arrested in New Brunswick by the Hopewell Township Police Department, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office and the U.S. Marshals Service. He was taken to Hopewell Township Police headquarters for processing and later lodged at Mercer County Correctional Center. The matter will be heard in Superior Court.
Tejada faces charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and assault by auto.
