LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – On March 20, the Township Planning Board adopted a recommendation to designate 3131 Princeton Pike as a Non-Condemnation Area In Need of Redevelopment.

The preliminary investigation report prepared by Beth McManus of Kyle McManus said that the site meets criteria to be deemed as a Non-Condemnation Area In Need of Redevelopment.

But it’s not a done deal yet. The final call remains in the hands of the Council. Since adopting the resolution, the documents will now be sent to Council who will decide whether to adopt the resolution or not.

In her report, McManus said that the property has been seeing significant vacancies over the past six years. The overall vacancy rate increased from 18 percent in 2018 to 42 percent in 2021. As a result, the assessed value of the property dropped from $24.8 million to $12 million in 2023.

Town Council will be meeting Tuesday, but the current agenda does not include the 3131 Princeton Pike resolution.
