Driver Killed After Car Runs Off Road, Overturns In Mercer Co.: NJSP

The identity of the driver is currently being withheld, authorities said. The crash occurred late Sunday night.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ – One person was killed late on Sunday in a crash that occurred on I-295 North in Hamilton, New Jersey State Police (NJSP) said.

At 11:51 p.m. on Sunday, troopers responded to Interstate 295 north milepost 63.1 in Hamilton. According to preliminary investigation a Mercedes-Benz sedan was traveling north on I-295 in the area of milepost 63.1, ran off the road to the right, overturned, and struck a sign support, NJSP said.

As a result of the crash, the driver sustained fatal injuries, authorities said.

The identity of the driver is currently being withheld pending next of kin notification, NJSP said.
