Drug Take-Back Day In Mercer County Set For Oct. 27
The goal is to help local residents to rid their medicine cabinets of unused and easily abused opioid painkillers.

Mercer County Sheriff Jack Kemler will host a National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, Oct. 27, the sheriff announced on Thursday. It will take place in the parking lot across from the Mercer County Administration Building at 640 South Broad Street in Trenton between 10 a.m.. and 2 p.m. Hypodermic needles or liquid solutions not accepted.
The event will give Mercer County residents the chance to dispose of unneeded and expired prescription drugs. The goal is to help local residents to rid their medicine cabinets of unused and easily abused opioid painkillers, in addition to any other unneeded prescription medications.
“Addiction or accidental misuse can sometimes happen right from your own medicine cabinet,” Kemler said. “So please look through your medicine cabinet and gather up any unused or expired medications, especially any opioid painkillers.”
