Community Corner

Enough Abuse Campaign from PEI Kids on April 28th... all members of the community are invited to attend

The Lawrence Ewing Trenton Girl Scouts is proud to host the Enough Abuse Campaign from PEI Kids for the our local community.  All are welcome to attend this powerful seminar:
In collaboration with the Enough Abuse Campaign, PEI Kids offers prevention training workshops about Preventing and Responding to Child Sexual Abuse Child sexual abuse is a public health epidemic:1in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually abused before their 18th birthday unless we take action now!This is an issue often pushed under the rug and hushed or seen as something that happens rarely.Because of this, many children suffer from abuse in silence. Offered to all Greater Mercer area organizations, institutions, and community members, Enough Abuse workshops teach adults about how to prevent, identify and address child sexual abuse within our community. Workshops are targeted toward adults who work with or care for children of all ages, including parents, family members, teachers, mentors, volunteers, counselors, health and mental health professionals and concerned citizens. The Enough Abuse curriculum addresses topics, such as: -Behavior signs in children and teens that indicate sexual abuse;
-Reasons victims of child sexual abuse don’t disclose; and
-How to respond to behavior signs in adults that indicate risks to children and teens.
