A young Jewish American man (Elijah Wood) is on a quest to find the woman who saved his grandfather in a small Ukrainian town that was decimated by the Nazi invasion. His traveling companions are a cranky old man and his grandson who won’t shut up. What begins as a tour from hell becomes a meaningful journey with revelations that will change each of them.
