Former Trenton Chief of Staff Paul Sigmund IV Charged With Heroin Possession

Paul Sigmund IV was previously charged with possession of heroin and assaulting a cop in 2011.

A former Trenton Chief of Staff with a previous criminal record was charged with DWI, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Paul Sigmund IV, 49, of San Francisco, was arrested by police on Sunday morning after he allegedly hit a 3’ pole with his 2012 Chevy Malibu in the Park Place Lot and left the scene, Princeton Police said on Thursday.

When police arrested later on charges of driving while intoxicated, he was also found in possession of heroin and hypodermic syringes.

He was also wanted on a municipal court warrant for $120 out of Lawrence Township.

He was processed at police headquarters and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (heroin), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession hypodermic syringes, under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, and driving while intoxicated.

After posting Lawrence Township’s bail, he was released on his own recognizance.

His vehicle sustained a pushed in left front fender. The pole sustained minor scratches.

Sigmund is a former Chief of Staff for the City of Trenton, and was arrested for possession of heroin and assaulting a police officer in 2011.

His mother, Barbara Boggs Sigmund, was mayor of Princeton Borough.

His maternal grandfather, Hale Boggs, was House Majority Leader. His maternal grandmother, Lindy Boggs, was a U.S. Ambassador to the Vatican.
