Free Car Seat Safety Check In Mercer County June 2

Make sure you're buckling your kids in correctly at this event in Lawrence Township June 2.

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ — Parents, grandparents, caretakers: Make sure your child's car seat is installed correctly! The Mercer County Sheriff's Office will host a free car seat safety checkpoint on Saturday, June 2.

From 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Mercer County sheriff's officers will be at St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center, 2381 Lawrenceville Road in Lawrenceville. The center is near the intersection of I-295 and Route 206, (exit 69A).

A certified technician will give your child’s car seat or booster seat a free inspection and examine it for correct use and installation. Free activity books will be provided to children.

Inspections will take place in the order of arrival, but reservations can be made ahead of time. They are recommended and can be made by emailing jmillner@slrc.org or by calling Jane Millner at 609-896-9500, ext. 2215.

“Do you know that more than 73 percent of child safety seats are used or installed incorrectly,” the sheriff's office asked in a release announcing the event. “Make sure your children or grandchildren are riding safely by

having their car seat or booster seat professionally checked.”
