The
Ladies of the Gwinnett County Alumnae Chapter (GCAC) of Delta Sigma Theta
Sorority, Inc. and the Gwinnett Chapter of the National Association and
Advancement for Colored People (NAACP) hosts a free community political
forum: Community Involvement in the
Political Process. Topics include:
Importance of being involved in the political process, Advocacy 101, Running
for Office, Voter Education Rules, Changes to Voter Laws, Get Out the Vote
Strategies, and Mobilizing the Community.
Tuwanda Rush Williams, First African American
President of the Gwinnett County Bar Association in Georgia and Senior
Assistant County Attorney at Gwinnett County Law Department will serve as the Moderator. Panelists include, Deandra
Orey, Ph.D., Political Science Professor (Jackson State University), Helen
Butler (Voting Rights Activist), Wayne Kendall (Advocacy Expert), and, Keiota
Jones (Grassroots Organizer, Moral Monday Georgia Movement).
