Fugitive Captured With Loaded Gun, Drugs In Mercer County: Cops

MERCER COUNTY, NJ - Authorities arrested a fugitive in Mercer County last week, and in doing so seized a loaded handgun, over 1,300 packets of suspected heroin and 30 grams of suspected cocaine, authorities said on Monday.
Alfred Donaldson, 36, was arrested inside a home on the 2000 block of Riverside Avenue in Trenton early Friday morning, Jan. 4, Mercer County Sheriff Jack Kemler announced.
Donaldson was arrested on two outstanding bench warrants issued by the Mercer County Superior Court, for assault and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, according to authorities.

At the time of his arrest, authorities also said he was in possession of a loaded semi-automatic handgun, about 1,375 packets of suspected heroin and 30 grams of suspected cocaine.
“The apprehension of Alfred Donaldson shows the Sheriff’s Office is firmly committed to taking criminals, drugs and guns off the streets of Mercer County,” Kemler said. “Our joint efforts with the US Marshals Service will reinforce our ability to apprehend dangerous fugitives in 2019.”

Donaldson is charged with weapons and narcotics offenses. He is lodged in the Mercer County Correction Center, pending a future court appearance.
