Lawrence Council Approves Increase In Sewer Fees

The sewer increase comes in anticipation of an increase in how much Lawrence Township must pay in sewer costs, centraljersey.com reports.

Lawrence Township, NJ -- Lawrence Township Council has passed a sewer fee increase that will increase sewer bills for average township residents by $30 a year and will take effect next year, centraljersey.com reports.

Additionally, there will be a $1 increase in the fixed charge rate, which covers debt service, billing and administrative costs, according to the report.

The sewer increase comes in anticipation of an increase in how much Lawrence Township must pay in sewer costs due to increased sewage flow. Lawrence and Ewing townships are both billed by the Ewing-Lawrence Sewerage Authority, based on how much sewage flows into the plant from each township.
