Lawrence Hopewell Trail Community Meeting Set For May 3
Trail users and enthusiasts, community members, residents and landowners are invited to learn more about the trail.

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Lawrence Hopewell Trail (LHT) will host a community meeting on Thursday, May 3, 6:30 p.m. in Conant Hall on the ETS Campus at 660 Rosedale Road in Lawrence Township.
Trail users and enthusiasts, community members, residents and landowners are invited to attend the meeting to learn more about the history, success, and current status of the trail. Mercer County residents, especially those living in the Lawrenceville and Hopewell Valley areas, are welcome, as are any other biking, walking and running enthusiasts.
“We hope lots of people will join us on May 3 for an update on the efforts to build a 22-mile trail through public and private lands in Lawrence and Hopewell Townships,” LHT Co-President Becky Taylor said. “We are inviting people to consider volunteering to help us continue building and maintaining the trail, to get involved with public relations aspects, help staff our booth at community events and make connections with other nearby communities.”

“We are very close to completing the initial trail loop that is anchored by 4 Bristol-Myers Squibb sites and the ETS campus,” LHT Co-President Eleanor Horne said. “We invite our neighbors to join us to learn about and create other plans for the future. Current plans we will discuss include a project highlighting historical buildings and areas along the trail and an exciting partnership with Capital Health through which we are offering health-related discussions and activities.”
Since 2002, the LHT has been working to build the 22+ mile bicycle and pedestrian recreational trail and transportation corridor through public and private lands in Lawrence and Hopewell townships. The LHT supports an active, livable, and sustainable community and envisions the trail as the means to connect people, landscape, and community.
