Lawrence Hopewell Trail Expands Again - Adding Another Mile!

The Lawrence Hopewell Trail in Mercer County, New Jersey, is celebrating a new addition – two connecting segments over a mile long, further establishing its status as the premier trail for bicyclists and walkers in the area.

The newest asphalt trail, which is 8 feet wide, runs from the vacant BMS property at Princeton Pike, past the Brearley Oak, and then crosses Lewisville Road to connect directly with the Lawrenceville School. From there, it becomes a stone dust trail and continues through the campus out to Route 206 and Lawrenceville Main Street.

Twenty-five years ago when we opened Hart’s Cyclery, this trail didn’t even exist. As the nearest bike shop to the Lawrence Hopewell Trail, we’ve had the pleasure of watching it develop over time. The project began as just an idea from employees of the Bristol-Myers Squibb Lawrenceville campus in 2001, and it’s come a long way since then, extending over 20 miles today.
