Depending on a child's situation, families may also need to provide custody papers, previous school records or transfer cards, and any existing IEP or 504 documentation.

Acceptable proof of residency includes documents showing a connection to a Lawrence Township address, such as a property deed, current lease, mortgage statement, property tax bill, utility bills, car registration, insurance documents, pay stubs, bank statements, benefit statements or medical documents.

Residency Requirements

The district is reminding families that only children who are eligible to attend Lawrence Township schools under New Jersey state law may be enrolled. Families who enroll ineligible children could face tuition charges exceeding $20,000 per year, per child.

"If you do not reside in Lawrence Township, you will be required to prove your eligibility in accordance with New Jersey Administrative Code and Statute," the district states in its registration materials.
