Lawrence Township Wins $500K DOT Grant
The township will use the grant to repave three different streets.
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — Lawrence Township has been awarded a $500,000 state grant to repave Devon Avenue, Irwin Place, and Smithfield Avenue, Centraljersey.com reports.
The township is one of 12 Mercer County municipalities to receive a Municipal Aid grant from the New Jersey Department of Transportation. The DOT approved a total of 541 grant applications, according to Centraljersey.com.
Township officials will prepare bid specifications and seek bids for the paving project. The Lawrence Township Council will soon award a contract to a successful bidder, and the work will begin in 2022.
