Man Attacked With Machete Outside Mercer Auto Repair Center: Police

Nicholas Schiaretti attacked a man with a machete during an argument outside an auto repair center in Hamilton, police said.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — A Mercer man has been charged with criminal attempt homicide after he attacked another man with a machete outside an auto repair center, Hamilton Police said.

On Monday at 11:26 a.m. Hamilton Police received a call about a man who was just attacked with a machete and lay collapsed at Quick Chek.

According to investigation, the man got into an argument with Nicholas Schiaretti, at American Auto on 1111 S. Olden Ave.

During the altercation Schiaretti brandished a machete and struck the man multiple times, police said. The man was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment where he is recovering from his injuries, authorities said.

Schiaretti fled from the scene on foot, but later turned himself into police custody. He was charged with criminal attempt homicide and weapons offenses and was transported to the Mercer County Correctional Center.
