Man Charged In Gunpoint Robbery At Lawrenceville Dunkin’: Police

The 22-year-old Trenton man wore a face mask and sunglasses when robbing the Dunkin at Princeton Avenue, Lawrence police said.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — A Trenton resident was charged with robbery, aggravated assault and other offenses after he robbed a local Dunkin’ at gunpoint, Police Chief Chris Longo said Friday.

Malik White, 22, was charged with robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon and certain persons not to possess a weapon.

On Nov. 27, around 6:10 a.m., the Dunkin’ located at 1625 Princeton Ave, Lawrenceville, was robbed at gunpoint.

A man wearing a face mask and sunglasses approached the Dunkin’ drive-thru window on foot. He removed a handgun from his waistband and pointed the firearm at a worker while demanding money, according to police.

After a short time at the drive-thru window, the man ran to the front entrance of the business and entered the store. Once inside, the man displayed the gun again and continued to demand money from employees, police said.

The man left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area on foot. No injuries were reported.

Through the investigation led by Dt. James Steimle, White was identified as a suspect. On Friday, around 6:15 a.m., White was taken into custody at his residence during the execution of a search warrant, Longo said.

He was taken to the Mercer County Correctional Center and is awaiting a detention hearing.

The Lawrence Township Police Department was assisted by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, and Trenton Police Department.
