Man Shot Dead On Sidewalk In Mercer County: Prosecutor

The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are investigating.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ – A Ewing resident was shot and killed Sunday morning in Trenton, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said.

Around 5 a.m. on Sept. 11, Trenton police responded to a Shot Spotter activation for multiple rounds in the 300 block of Garfield Avenue. On arrival, officers found Chron Jenks, 34, of Ewing on the sidewalk suffering a gunshot wound to the chest, Onofri said.

Jenks was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are investigating.
