Man Tried To Stop Hit-And-And-Run In Lawrenceville. He Died.
A gas station attendant known as "Chuckie," a beloved good Samaritan, died when he tried to do the right thing.

A beloved New Jersey man who tried to stop a hit-and-run driver has died from his injuries, police said.
Charles "Chuckie" Nevius, 35, of Hamilton was attempting to stop the driver of a Nissan after the car struck a Silver Honda SUV earlier this week in Lawrenceville. The gas attendant sustained injuries to his head and leg and was initially in critical condition at Capital Health Regional.
The incident happened at 1:40 p.m. on Monday, when the Lawrence Township Police Department received a 911 call reporting that a gas attendant was struck by a Gray Nissan Altima in the parking lot of Quick Check, on the Brunswick Circle extension. He died a day later.

The suspect is depicted in the below photos. He was last seen wearing a bandana and a sweatshirt. The suspect vehicle pictured has tint on his front and rear door windows.

The crash is still under investigation by Lawrence Ofc. Andres Mejia, Det. Joseph Radlinsky, Det. Dan Gladney and the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office Serious Collision unit. According to his obituary, “Chuckie,” as he was affectionately referred to by his family and friends, was a lifelong area resident of Hamilton who enjoyed spending quality time with his daughter, cooking, playing video games live with his brother and going fishing with his Uncle Tommy.
Survivors include a daughter, Persephanie. About 50 people packed together in a lot behind the Quick Chek on Brunswick Pike to listen to the victim’s mother, Janet Nevius, recall her son as a devoted worker who gave up his position as a manager to spend more time with his daughter, according to The Trentonian.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, 7 p.m. at the Chiacchio Southview Funeral Home, 990 South Broad Street, Trenton, NJ 08611. Family and friends may gather from 6 to to 8 p.m.. The family respectfully requests those in attendance wear casual clothing as Chuckie was always casually dressed wherever he would go.
In advance, the family would like to extend their gratitude to all of the friends and loved ones who can make memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to the Andrew Jarzyk Memorial Foundation, 61 Yellow Meeting House Road, Cream Ridge.
