Melba Ice Creamery Will Be Replacing Lawrenceville’s Purple Cow
As summer officially begins, Melba Ice Creamery will be making its debut in Lawrenceville.
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — A new ice cream shop is all set to open in the spot previously occupied by The Purple Cow.
Melba Ice Creamery will be opening on Thursday.
In December last year, Tom and Cindy Pearce, owners of The Purple Cow Ice Cream announced they were retiring. Joanne Canady-Brown, the owner of local bake shop The Gingered Peach, took over operations.

At the time, The Gingered Peach had announced that in the summer of 2023, they would be bringing customers the same ice cream they so loved with a “peachy twist.”
On Wednesday the bakery announced they would be opening Thursday at noon. “Just in time for the last day of school in Lawrenceville. Melba Ice Creamery will be making her debut,” The Gingered Peach said in a Facebook post.

“Rain is in the forecast, but we're doing this. We've been practicing. We're still figuring it out, but we're so excited to welcome you back.”
The new logo features a cow and the shape of New Jersey hidden within it.
