Mercer Co. Man Charged With Murder For December Shooting Death
Yancy Young, 33, is charged with murder and multiple weapon offenses in the shooting death of Michael Degrasse Jr., authorities said.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ — A Mercer County man has been arrested and charged for a December 2021 shooting death that occurred on Chambers Street in Trenton, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said Monday.
Yancy Young, 33, of Trenton is charged with murder and multiple weapon offenses. He was served his complaints last week at the Mercer County Correction Center where he is being held on an unrelated incident, Onofri said.
On December 11, at approximately 1 a.m., police found a 25-year-old Michael Degrasse Jr., on the side of Championship Bar suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Degrasse was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead a short time later, Onofri said.
The prosecutor’s office has filed a motion to detain Young pending trial.
