Mercer Co. Man Fatally Shot Sunday, Investigation Underway
Officers performed CPR before the victim was taken to the hospital, where he died.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ - A 29-year-old man was fatally shot in Trenton late Sunday, according to the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department, which are jointly investigating.
Trenton patrol officers responded to the 600 block of Whittaker Avenue at approximately 11:38 p.m. on Aug. 23 after a report of a Hispanic man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest, according to authorities.
Officers found an unresponsive man and performed CPR before he was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, officials said.

The victim's name will be released following next-of-kin notification, authorities said.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to submit it anonymously online at mercercountyprosecutor.com.
