Mercer County Fugitive Arrested, Heroin Seized In Galloway: Cops

Manuel Alicea was arrested and a large amount of heroin was seized last week.

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ - A fugitive from Mercer County was arrested in Galloway Township last week, Mercer County Sheriff Jack Kemler announced.

Manuel Alicea Jr., 25, of the Trenton/Ewing area, was found inside a home on the 700 block of 8th Street in Galloway during the early morning hours of Friday, Dec. 7, according to the sheriff’s office.

Alicea was arrested on four outstanding bench warrants issued in Mercer County Superior Court for unlawful possession of a handgun, two counts of theft, and receiving stolen property.

When he was arrested, officers said Alicea was in possession of 2,550 packets or approximately $10,000 worth of suspected heroin, along with smaller quantities of suspected cocaine.

“The apprehension of Manuel Alicea and his large stash of heroin marks just one more successful arrest made through our joint efforts with the US Marshals Service,” Kemler said. “It shows that the Sheriff’s Office is committed to fighting the drug epidemic here in Mercer County and throughout the state.”

Alicea was charged with narcotics offenses and lodged in the Atlantic County jail pending a court appearance.
