Mercer County Man Arrested With AR-15 Rifle: Police

Masiyah Howard was arrested last week following a weapons investigation.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ - A Mercer County man has been arrested and an AR-15 assault rifle was seized last week following a weapons investigation, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri announced.

Masiyah Howard, 22, of Trenton, was stopped while driving in the area of Conrad and Division streets in Trenton at about 4 p.m. on Nov. 15. At that time, police found him in possession of three grams of marijuana, according to the prosecutor.

The Mercer County SWAT Team executed a search warrant at Howard’s apartment a short time later. During the search, officers said they found a Bushmaster short barrel AR-15 assault rifle with an attached scope, 10 hollow-point .223 rounds with an extended magazine, an additional scope detached from the gun and a digital scale.

Howard has been charged with numerous weapons offenses and possession of marijuana. The prosecutor’s office filed a motion to detain him.
