Mercer County Man Arrested In Fatal Shooting At Deli

Wade J. Williams has been charged in the murder of Tyrone King back in September.

A Mercer County man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting that took place in a Trenton deli in September, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri announced. Wade J. Williams, 42, of Trenton, is charged with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon in the murder of 51-year-old Tyrone King.

Williams was arrested early Tuesday morning at his home by members of the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Mercer County Homicide Task Force. The prosecutor’s office will be filing a motion to have him detained.

Police found King lying on the floor of the deli while responding to the deli on the 900 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard for reports of gunshots at about 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 17. King was unresponsive and had been shot in the chest, police said. He was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he died a short time later.
