Mercer County Man Charged With Narcotics, Gun Possession During Fugitive Investigation

A Mercer County man was charged with multiple weapons and narcotics charges after members of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force and Counter Gang Unit conducted a fugitive investigation in Trenton Monday night.
Samuel Nash, 25, was charged with two counts of possession of a firearm during a narcotics offence, two counts of possession of a high capacity ammunition magazine, and possession of heroin with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public park (Lamberton Street Park).
During the investigation, Nash was found to allegedly be in possession of a loaded 7.62 caliber semi-automatic rifle with a high-capacity ammunition magazine, a loaded 9 mm semi-automatic handgun with a high-capacity ammunition magazine, a protective body armor vest and 53 packets of suspected heroin.

“Our joint law enforcement efforts continue to have an impact on the apprehension of criminals and continues its success in taking illegal drugs and weapons off the street,” Mercer County Sheriff Jack Kemler said in a release issued on Wednesday.
Nash is being held at the Mercer County Corrections Center on $75,000 bail.

Nash was not the target of the fugitive investigation, authorities said. That investigation is ongoing.
