Mercer County Man Convicted of Assaulting Girlfriend

Saddique Williams was found guilty of breaking his girlfriend's jaw during a domestic dispute.

A 39-year-old Trenton man was convicted of aggravated assaulted this week, Acting Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said.

Saddique Williams was found guilty of third-degree aggravated assault after the jury deliberated for four hours following a six-day trial.

A jury found Williams guilty of punching his girlfriend in the face several times during a domestic dispute at the Budget Inn in Trenton on June 9, 2011. His girlfriend’s jaw was broken in the assault.

Williams’ bail was revoked. He is extended-term eligible and faces up to 10 years in state prison when he is sentenced on June 19.
