Mercer County Man Indicted in 2014 Murder, Sexual Assault
Jorge Rodriguez allegedly assaulted and murdered a woman when he intended to rob her apartment.

A Trenton man has been indicted on charges of murder and sexual assault in the June 2014 death of 49-year-old Keisha Alexander, Acting Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri announced on Wednesday.
Jorge L. Rodriguez, 21, was indicted on one count of first-degree aggravated murder, one count of first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree felony murder, one count of second-degree burglary, three counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, two counts of third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and two counts of fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
Trenton Police found Alexander dead in her Edgewood Avenue apartment at around 7:45 a.m. on June 21, 2014.

Rodriguez allegedly intended to rob her apartment that day. He allegedly opened a back window of the apartment, reached in and unlocked the back door.
He allegedly physically and sexually assaulted Alexander. He then allegedly stabbed her with a knife and left the apartment.

Rodriguez faces the possibility of life in prison without the possibility of parole if found guilty of the aggravated murder charge. He remains in jail in lieu of $500,000 cash only bail.
