Mercer County Man Indicted in Shooting Death in Trenton
Donte F. Jones has been indicted in the shooting death of Levonza Thompson.

A Mercer County man has been indicted in the shooting death of 36-year-old Levonza Thompson of Philadelphia, PA, Acting Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said on Monday.
Donte F. Jones, 24, of Trenton, was indicted on one count of first-degree murder, one count of second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and one count of second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun.
Thompson was discovered lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds by police who were responding to a call of shots fired on the 200 block of Coolidge Avenue on Oct. 31, 2014.

He was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
An investigation by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force resulted in the charges.

Members of the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Jones on Nov. 7, and he remains in the Mercer County Correction Center in lieu of $1 million bail.
Despite having been indicted, every defendant is presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
