Mercer County Marks 76th Anniversary Of Pearl Harbor Sunday
The event is Sunday in Trenton.

Mercer County will mark the 76th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor this Sunday. Veterans and other members of the greater Mercer County community are invited to a ceremony on Sunday, Dec. 3, noon, at Catholic War Veterans Post 417, 301 Grand Street in Trenton. The attack took place on Dec. 7, 1941, and lead to America’s involvement in World War II.
The event is presented by Mercer County Veteran Services in conjunction with the Mercer County Veterans Council. The public is encouraged to attend. Mercer County Executive Brian Hughes will give brief remarks at the ceremony, followed by remarks from Capt. Stanley Winowicz Jr., USNR.
This year’s program will also feature the traditional laying of a wreath at the base of the American flag, the laying of a second wreath by the Sons and Daughters of Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, a 21-gun salute by the Marine Corps League, and the playing of taps.
