Mercer Man Charged With Murder After Body Found In Vacant Trenton Home

Anthony White, 35, was reported missing in March before an autopsy ruled his death a homicide, authorities said.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — A Trenton man has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the death of another Trenton resident earlier this year, Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey said.

Donnell Carmicheal, 38, is charged with one count of first-degree murder following an investigation by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department, according to the prosecutor's office.

Anthony White, 35, of Cuyler Avenue in Trenton, was reported missing by family members on March 19. On April 1, police responded to a vacant home at 409 Walnut Avenue, where White was found dead, according to the prosecutor's office.

An autopsy conducted by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner's Office determined White's death was a homicide caused by blunt impact injuries and strangulation, according to the release.

Carmicheal surrendered to the Mercer County Sheriff's Office on July 1 and is being held at the Mercer County Correction Center. The prosecutor's office has filed a motion to detain him pending trial, and a hearing is scheduled for July 17.
