A New Jersey pensions supervisor was caught on camera stealing money from a co-worker's pocketbook, according to authorities.

Bernadine Brozena, a supervising pension benefits specialist, was reportedly captured on video stealing money from her co-workers pocketbook.

Brozena, 57, of Lawrence, was arrested by State Police on June 26 at the Pensions and Benefits office located at 50 W. State St. in Trenton, Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office spokeswoman Casey DeBlasio told The Trentonian.

The victim told police that she suspected that her direct supervisor, Brozena, had been stealing from her, and that money, clothing, jewelry and her car keys were lifted by her boss, according to the report.

New Jersey State Police were called to the Division of Pensions and Benefits on West State Street to investigate the theft complaint, according to nj.com. A detective met with several supervisors and the victim, who suspected Brozena had been stealing from her at work for nearly a year.

Video surveillance showed that Brozena was, indeed, stealing the items, according to the report. The New Jersey Department of Treasury, which oversees the Division of Pensions, said Tuesday that Brozena was suspended without pay following her arrest. She earned earns an annual salary of $96,415.

Brozena's Facebook page said attended St. Anthony High School in Hamilton and said she's worked at "NJ State Dept of Treasury, Division of Pensions and Benefits, Supervising Pension Benefits Specialist - Supervisor Retirement Processing · 1988 to present· Trenton, New Jersey."
