NJ's ‘Jeopardy!’ Champ To Get Hometown Honor In Lawrence Township

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — The Lawrence Township Council is set to honor resident Jamie Ding with an official proclamation recognizing his historic run on "Jeopardy!"

Ding, a Lawrence Township resident, won 31 consecutive games on the iconic quiz show, amassing $882,605 in winnings and ranking fifth among the highest-earning contestants in the show's history — the most successful run by any New Jersey contestant ever.

"Jamie's incredible achievement is a testament to his intellect, dedication, and composure under pressure," the proclamation states, adding that his success inspires residents, particularly students, to value knowledge and lifelong learning.

Mayor Christopher Bobbitt praised Ding's accomplishment as a reflection of the community's character. "Lawrence Township is incredibly proud of Jamie Ding and the remarkable achievement he has shown the entire nation," Bobbitt said.

Councilwoman Amanda Santos called Ding "a true hometown hero," while Councilwoman Bonne O'Flanagan Giglio said he had "put Lawrence Township on the map in an unforgettable way."
