Middlesex County Man Found Monday After Apparent Shooting Outside Home

Police are investigating the death of a North Brunswick man who was found Monday morning after he apparently was shot outside his home.

Brian Hoey, 43, of Schmidt Lane in North Brunswick was pronounced dead at 1:54 a.m.

The results of an autopsy being performed by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office were not immediately available, but it appeared the victim had been fatally shot.

Detective Robert Powell of the North Brunswick Police Department and Detective Gregory Morris of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office began the investigation after police were called to the victim’s home at the Belcourt Townhomes at Hidden Lake at 1:26 a.m.

No arrests have been made, but the investigation is active and is continuing.
