One Suspect in Custody, Others Still Being Sought In Connection with Armed Robbery of Hamilton Jewelers
Lawrence Township detectives investigating Monday's holdup of the Hamilton Jewelers store teamed up with other law enforcement officers to conduct a raid at a house on Spring Street in Trenton on Tuesday.
One suspect has been arrested in connection with at 2542 Brunswick Pike (Business Route 1), Lawrence Township police spokesman Lt. Charles Edgar confirmed late this afternoon (April 27).
But, citing the ongoing nature of the police investigation and the continuing manhunt for the other suspects, Edgar refused to release the name of the arrestee or provide details of the arrest.
Police have said that three men, at least one of whom was armed with a handgun, entered the jewelry store about 12:15 p.m. Monday, smashed a display case, and made off with merchandise worth a “significant” amount of money.

The three robbers are believed to have fled the area in a gray vehicle that may have been driven by a fourth person.
Lawrence Township Police Department Detectives Joseph Lech IV and Kevin Reading Jr, along with law enforcement officials from other agencies, were photographed executing a search warrant at an address in the 200 block of Spring Street in Trenton on Tuesday morning.

The raid, according to law enforcement sources, was part of the investigation into the Hamilton Jewelers holdup.
Edgar said police hope to be able to release more details of the investigation on Thursday.
