Route 206 Reopens After Downed Wire In Lawrence: Police

The wires were down after 60 mph winds hit New Jersey Monday morning.

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ - Route 206 has reopened at Darrah Lane, Lawrence Township police said Monday evening. Route 206 north was closed due to downed wires.

The downed wire were the result of heavy winds of more than 60 mph that hit New Jersey on Monday. A high wind warning has been canceled.

Downed wires should always be considered "live," authorities advise. Residents should not approach or drive over a downed line or touch anything that it might be in contact with. As always, use 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency.
