The popular grocery store that's already established a presence in New Jersey plans to expand.
For cost-conscious customers, this will be welcome news: Aldi is known for its cheap prices and having an inventory nearly devoid of name brands.
Aldi plans to hire 250 employees and open four stores by next year, according to the company. Aldi already announced locations in Hamilton in Mercer County and Flemington; now the chain is planning stores in Egg Harbor Township and Old Bridge.

The Hamilton store at 1250 Route 33 and the Flemington location at the 325 Route 202 location will open in November, according to the company.
Every New Jersey ALDI store - 42 total - will be holding a hiring event on Wednesday, Oct. 11 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

"The hiring spree is in support of the ongoing growth of ALDI’s existing stores as well as to hire employees for the upcoming New Jersey stores in Egg Harbor, Flemington, Hamilton and Old Bridge," according to a company press release.
Aldi says its wages and benefits are higher than the national average for the retail industry, and much higher than the New Jersey minimum wage of $8.44.
Here's what's available:
- Store Associate - $12.00 - $12.40 per hour, depending on location
- Shift Manager – $12.00 - $12.40 per hour, depending on location, plus additional $4.25 per hour premium when performing manager duties
- Manager Trainee - $52,000 - $56,160 per year ($25.00 - $27.00 per hour averaging 40-50 hours per week) with an opportunity to earn $75,000 - $95,000 per year as a Store Manager
