Primary Election In Lawrence Twp.: When, Where To Vote

The New Jersey Primary Election is on June 6. Here's where and how to cast your ballot:

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Primary Election day in New Jersey is June 6, and voters have various options to cast their ballots.

Primary elections allow voters who are registered to a political party, such as the Democratic Party or Republican Party, to select the candidates who will represent their party in the November General Election.

There are no contested elections in Lawrence Township. Residents will be voting for County Commissioners, Senate and Assembly seats, which are uncontested. Click here for sample ballot.

Residents have multiple options for casting their ballots in the June Primary Election. They include mailing ballots through the United States Postal Service (USPS); dropping a ballot in any secure drop box across the County; three days of in-person early voting at any early vote locations in the County; or voting in person on Primary Election Day, June 6

Unaffiliated registered voters may choose to vote in either the Democratic Primary Election or the Republican Primary Election. If voting in person, either early or on Primary Election Day, an unaffiliated voter must declare their party affiliation at the polls before voting.

Due to new state law, only registered Democratic and Republican voters are eligible to receive a mail-in ballot for the Primary Election.

Here’s a list of drop boxes in Lawrence Township:

  • Board of Elections - 930 Spruce St., Lawrence
  • Lawrence Municipal Building – 2207 Lawrenceville Road, (Rt 206) Lawrence

EARLY IN-PERSON VOTING

In-person early voting will open Friday, June 2 through Sunday, June 4. Hours will be Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. No appointment is necessary.

Early Voting in Lawrence will be held at Mercer County Lawrence Library – 2751 Brunswick Pike.

IN-PERSON VOTING ON PRIMARY ELECTION DAY

In-person voting is available to all registered voters. Voters who have not requested a Mail-In Ballot may vote in person at their assigned polling place on June 6.

Voters who received a Mail-In Ballot but do not return their ballot may still vote in person by provisional ballot at their assigned polling place on June 6.

Polls in New Jersey will be open from 6 am to 8 pm on Primary Election Day.

  • Slackwood Fire House, 21 Slack Ave.: District 2, 9, 10

  • Project Freedom at Lawrence, 1 Freedom Blvd.: District 5
  • Lawrence Senior Center, 30 Darrah Lane East: District 12, 13, 14, 19
  • Lawrence Square Village Clubhouse, 1 Reed Court: District 16
  • Lawrence Twp. Municipal Building, 2207 Lawrence Road: District 17, 18, 21
