Princeton Area Community Foundation Among State's Top Charities

The blog site Charity Navigator named the Lawrenceville-based foundation among the top 10 charities in the state.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — The Princeton Area Community Foundation is among the top charities in the state, according to the blog Charity Navigator.

The Lawrenceville-based charity made the site’s list of 10 best charities in the state. The top 10 was taken from a list of 130 highly rated charities.

“The Princeton Area Community Foundation is a public charity serving central New Jersey. They provide a way for individuals, families, businesses, and organizations to create permanent charitable funds that help their communities meet the challenges of changing times,” according to the charity’s description on the site. “They invest and administer those funds, award grants, and scholarships, and prove a number of services to promote philanthropy and support the community’s local nonprofit sector.”

“We are thrilled to be included on this list,” said Jeffrey M. Vega, President & CEO of the Community Foundation. “New Jersey is home to thousands of nonprofits working to make our state a great place to live. To be recognized as one of the 10 most highly-rated charities in New Jersey is quite an honor.”

The Trenton Area Soup Kitchen also made the list.

“The Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) feeds the hungry in Trenton (NJ) and its surrounding areas,” according to the site. “In addition to providing food, they offer a number of programs to encourage self-sufficiency and improve the quality of life for all patrons.”
