Prisoner Van Hits Deer Near Mercer County Jail, Several Treated For Injuries

Several occupants of the Trenton police van complained of pain and were taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, police said.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ - A Trenton police transport van struck a deer early Tuesday while transferring prisoners to the Mercer County Workhouse in Hopewell, according to police.

The crash occurred at approximately 1:45 a.m. when a deer entered the roadway in front of the vehicle, police said.

Some occupants complained of pain and were taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where they were treated and released.
