Prisoner Van Hits Deer Near Mercer County Jail, Several Treated For Injuries: Report

Several occupants of the Trenton police van complained of pain and were taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, per reports.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ - A Trenton police transport van struck a deer early Wednesday while transferring prisoners to the Mercer County Correctional Center in Hopewell Township, according to media reports.

The crash occurred just outside the jail's entrance at around 2:30 a.m., according to NJ.com. Some occupants of the van complained of pain and were treated at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, police told the outlet.

The crash remains under investigation.
