LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - Rider University will launch a new master’s program in information systems in September, the university announced on Tuesday. The program combines a strong foundation in information technology with organizational management skills, preparing graduates to excel in high-paying executive roles such as chief information officer or vice president of technology.

The current median annual salary of information systems managers is $139,220, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which also forecasts that demand for such jobs is anticipated to grow by 12 percent by 2026, well above the average growth rate of 7 percent for all occupations.

“The program will satisfy the needs of those who want to thrive in their current role as a senior business or information leader or become one,” Rider College of Business Administration Associate Dean of Graduate Programs in Rider’s College of Business Administration Dr. Ron Cook said.

The 30-credit program begins with a core foundation of management, information technology and analytics followed by in-depth investigations into the relationship between technology systems and high-level business strategies. Students will graduate with a deep and profound understanding of information systems for businesses — and how to execute innovative strategies in their own work.

Students will also be able to take advantage of learning from and networking with the faculty of Rider’s College of Business Administration. Rider is among only 2 percent of universities worldwide to hold prestigious dual accreditation in both business and accounting by AACSB International — the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
