Fire Breaks Out In Basement Of Lawrence Township Home: Police

It was brought under control Tuesday afternoon. No one was injured.

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ — Bakers Basin Road has reopened, Lawrence Township police announced at about 3:15 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. The road had been closed between Route 1 and Greenberg Road for a house fire according to Lawrence Township police. No one was injured in the incident.

The fire originated from a breaker box in the basement. The home was evacuated while the fire department responded to the scene. The fire was confined to the basement, and was brought under control. The residents will be temporarily displaced due to the electrical problem.

Drivers are still advised to use caution in the area.
