Pedestrian Fatally Struck On Route 1 In Lawrence Township

Police shut down Route 1 near Bakers Basin this morning to investigate the crash. The identity of the victim is currently unknown.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — A pedestrian was struck and killed Monday morning in Lawrence Township, leading to the closure of the Bakers Basin area of Route 1, police said.

Around 6:38 a.m. police said they received a call from a driver who informed them that a person was lying on the road in the area of Route 1 and Bakers Basin. Upon arrival, officers found that a pedestrian was fatally struck, police said.

At this time no other information is known and the crash is still under investigation. The identity of the pedestrian is also unknown.

Detective Joseph Radlinsky of the Lawrence Township Police Department is heading the investigation with assistance from Detectives from the Mercer County Prosecutors Office Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash Unit.
