Scarecrow Building Contest In Lawrenceville Saturday

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — Let your creative juices flow while coming up with a scarecrow that really stands out in Lawrenceville this weekend. “Scarecrows In The Park” is a free family event in Weeden Park in the Village of Lawrenceville that takes place on Saturday, Oct. 21, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lawrenceville Main Street will provide the hay, and attendees should bring clothing, shoes, and accessories in an effort to come up with the most unique scarecrow. Any leftover, usable items will be donated to the Lawrence Middle and High School Parent Teacher Organization for their clothing drive fundraiser.

There will be plenty of musical entertainment at the event, sponsored by Weichert Realtors. The Beagles will perform power pop, rock, and soul tunes from the 1960s through today as well as folk and family favorites.
Frances Cathering Ihling will perform upbeat arrangements from her album “A Million Stars.”
