Shake Shack Is Coming To Lawrence Township

The burger-and-shake chain is looking at opening on Route 1, although it is unknown when it will open, according to nj.com.

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ — The popular burger-and-shake restaurant chain Shake Shack is looking at putting a location in Mercer County, although it remains unknown when it will open.

The restaurant would set up shop on Route 1 in Lawrence Township, nj.com reports. It received the approvals to open late last year.

It is among four new locations under consideration in the state, including Marlton, Wayne, and Parsippany.

Shake Shack started as a hot dog cart in Manhattan, NY, in 2001, according to the food chain's website. It was founded to help support the Madison Square Park Conservancy's first art installation.

It now has full fledged shake shops in 16 states, the District of Columbia and has gone international. In New Jersey, it currently has locations in Paramus and Bridgewater.

Shake Shack serves burgers, hot dogs, french fries and milkshakes. They also offer a portobello mushroom burger and a chicken sandwich.
