Sheriff Kemler: Free Gunlocks Available to Residents

The locks are available through a nationwide grant from Project ChildSafe.

Free gunlocks are available to any Mercer County resident to secure their firearms, Mercer County Sheriff Jack Kemler said on Tuesday.

The locks are available through a nationwide grant from Project ChildSafe. They meet American Society for Testing and Materials’ current strength and safety standards for cable gunlocks, Kemler said.

“The proper and secure storage of firearms is essential to preventing tragic firearm accidents in the home,” Kemler said.
