Singers sought for Seeger Songfest

Songs of justice and peace will ring out at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Princeton at the Pete Seeger Songfest.

Jim Scott, the acclaimed singer and songwriter who collaborated with activist and environmentalist Pete Seeger, will lead a celebration of the songs of activist and environmentalist Pete Seeger, 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 18.

Scott describes it this way: "We’ll honor Pete Seeger, singing many of his well-loved songs such as If I Had a Hammer, Turn, Turn, Turn, Where Have All the Flowers Gone and many others. All interested singers welcome, no experience necessary."

Seeger died at age 94 in 2014. "We have lost an icon, but not his legacy of poetry and song to guide and inspire us," said Scott, a guitarist with the Paul Winter Consort and co-composer of their celebrated "Missa Gaia / Earth Mass,"
